About this blog

Hi, I’m Melanie Richards. By day I work as a product manager at Netlify, where I help empower web developers and their teammates build great things (efficiently!) on the web. Like many people who spend a lot of time staring at screens, I’ve gotten a lot of joy out of making things with my hands. In fact, I first picked up weaving as a hobby when I needed something to help soothe some anxious feelings.

This blog is essentially a way for me to chronicle my makes as I level up my skills in knitting, sewing, and weaving. Specifically, I'm hoping to:

Knit more than rectangles
Reconnect to sewing—I grew up in a quilter’s home—and make some of my own wardrobe
Try weaving a rug or two!
